Description
Summary:A new approach to power generation at coke plants is considered. The goal is to find approaches that decrease fuel and energy consumption, while improving byproduct yield and quality. It proves effective to organize a hybrid gas–steam power generator so that the gas-turbine exhaust serves as the oxidant in the coke battery. In this system, heat from the coke-oven gas is used to warm the air in the gas turbine’s air regenerator and to produce high- and low-pressure steam in a waste-heat boiler. Formulas are derived for the electrical power of this system.
