Summary:Background Sulfasalazine or salazosulfapyridine is a sulfonamide-derived drug with antiinflammatory properties that is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthropathies, as well as in inflammatory bowel diseases. All symptoms resolved after drug withdrawal and corticosteroid therapy. 10 weeks after complete recovery, patients underwent patch testing which was negative in all patients.
