Summary: | There are various modes to drive liquid crystal in LCD IPS, VA, TN, FFS etc. They have something in common that is using Vcom on the whole panel to drive liquid crystal. So we control the Vcom to minimize Vrms deviation in switching frame. But it gives DC stress in liquid crystal continuously and occurs the reliability problem because of limitation of control the Vcom deviation on the whole panel. To solve this problem, we made “UPS” structure which drives liquid crystal using a gap of data signal without Vcom. So it is possible that no difference Vrms in each frame, in each position of panel. Therefore, we reduce flicker and DC stress in liquid crystal.
And, we have confirmed the better result from the 15″ IPS prototype panel driven by the UPS technology. |
