Isolation and biochemical mapping in the range of 10 −7 to 10 −12 g of fresh, single mammalian neurons in brain II. Some applications
Some applications and results are given from studies on: RNA base ratio changes and gene activation and specific protein synthesis during acquisition of new behavior in rats, rabbits and Rhesus monkeys, on glia changes during training to learn, the neuron-glia relationship, and on analysis of the me...

Summary: | Some applications and results are given from studies on: RNA base ratio changes and gene activation and specific protein synthesis during acquisition of new behavior in rats, rabbits and Rhesus monkeys, on glia changes during training to learn, the neuron-glia relationship, and on analysis of the mechanism of neuronal inhibition by GABA receptors, using fresh plasma membranes. Future directions are discussed. Studies on fresh, single nerve cells and glia using the micromethods are described. |
