Description
Summary:Metastatic involvement of the neck lymph nodes is a very unusual finding in patients with adenocarcinoma of the cervix uteri. We present a patient with a left supraclavicular mass in the neck who was treated for a cervix uteri adenocarcinoma 18 months earlier. In this case, a multinodular goiter with compressive symptoms coexisted with it. The diagnosis after surgery was a metastasis of cervix adenocarcinoma in the neck and a nodular hyperplasia of the thyroid gland. We discuss the clinical findings and therapeutic options. A differential diagnosis and a therapeutic management for metastases of adenocarcinoma in the neck lymph nodes related to cervix uteri carcinoma or to thyroid pathology in this particular case have to be considered.
