Description
Summary:In the present research, antimony trioxide Sb 2 O 3 particles have been successfully elaborated via solvothermal method and their photocatalytic ability for removal of crystal violet dye from water was investigated. The prepared oxide samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction XRD, FTIR, SEM analyses. XRD results revealed that Sb 2 O 3 was formed with different phase structures depending on the used solvent. SEM images showed that the microstructure of the prepared antimony trioxide was significantly affected by the nature of the used solvent. The photocatalytic activity of Sb 2 O 3 particles for the degradation of crystal violet dye was studied. It was found that our synthesized Sb 2 O 3 could act as an efficient photocatalyst for the tested dye removal from water.
