Description
Summary:On page 1944, H. Míguez, G. de la Cueva‐Méndez, and co‐workers present flexible biocompatible films made of a sequence of nanostructured layers, which provide an alternative absorption‐free approach to protect human epithelial cells against the noxious effects of ultraviolet radiation. Photo‐induced damage of DNA is identified by the presence of cyclobutene pyrimidine dimers (green stained nuclei), which are absent in unharmed cells (blue stained nuclei).
