Summary: | Application of Distributed Generation (DG) to supply the demand of diverse customer base has been gaining popularity. Various DGs are connected to the power systems to improve reliability. Conventional distribution system is radial in nature, characterized by a single source feeding a network of downstream feeder. Protection schemes for distribution system have been designed to assume the system to be radial. However, a large number of DGs connected to distribution networks bring a series of challenges on distribution networks protection. Automatic reclosing is very important for the reliability of distribution networks. In this paper, the effects of DG on automatic reclosing of distribution network have been identified. Suggestions and methods are given to reverse the effect of DG on automatic reclosing of distribution network. The proposed strategy is simulated by PSCAD™ software in this paper. |
