Summary: | The current research focuses on improving some of the physical and radiation properties of barium zinc phosphate glass containing lead oxide. The Makishima-Mackenzie model evaluates the elastic parameters. The XCOM database simulation predicts the shielding properties. Furthermore, the glass composition and the simulated X-ray or gamma-ray energy predict the shielding behavior. The optimal thickness for all glass samples to achieve a 90% reduction in intensity at an energy of 59.54 keV is 5.2 mm. These glasses have great potential as materials for shielding against gamma and X-rays. |
