Summary:New data on the distribution, ecology and population threats of the rare Satyr species Satyrus effendi Nekrutenko, 1989 (Lepidoptera, Satyridae) in the south of the Zangezur Ridge are presented. The variability of external morphological features is analyzed. The main factors influencing the dynamics of S. effendi populations in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (Azerbaijan) are described.
