Description
Summary:Avian-origin H3N2 CIV infection in dogs was not only reported in South Korea, but also reported in southern China from 2006-2007 ( Li and others 2010 ). [...]it has been suggested that CIV could have been transmitted between South Korea and China through pet dog exchange. [...]we emphasise the need to re-evaluate companion animals as potential reservoirs or intermediate hosts for reassortment of influenza virus, and reinforce the need for intensified monitoring of canine populations for H3 influenza virus infection.
