In the last four years, there were plenty of occasions to look things up and be thankful that Kendig's book was handy, but there was never enough time to settle down and really read both volumes. Now we have the new and improved Kendig, back to its proper size of one volume, and with a distinguished associate editor.It really is up to date, with references extending even into 1977. It really is improved, both by revisions of all sections and by the addition of seven new chapters. And there really are sections that are both readable and of enough general interest to warrant being read by everyone caring for children.
