Description
Summary:In testing with 295 undergraduates, a 47-item version of the Multiscore Depression Inventory met item selection criteria, and 9 of the original 10 subscales were retained (e.g., Instrumental Helplessness, Guilt, Social Introversion, and Low Self-Esteem). Kuder-Richardson reliabilities for subscales were in the .70s and .80s, and total score reliability was .92. Correlations were generally good between subscales and concurrent self-report measures such as the Profile of Mood States and UCLA Loneliness Scale. The total scale correlated highly with the Beck Depression Inventory and the Depression Adjective Check Lists. (12 ref)
