Description
Summary:The SWAT model, coupled to a GIS, was applied to the Kerava watershed (South of Finland), an agricultural subbasin of the Vantaa watershed draining into the Baltic Sea. The model was adapted to the specific conditions of the catchment by adding a weather generator and a snow melt submodel calibrated for Finland. A forested sub-basin was used to calibrate the forest parameters. The hydrological and water-quality simulation results were compared with daily measured series and monthly averages in terms of water outflows and nitrogen and phosphorus loads. Good agreement was found between measured and predicted values.
