Summary: | The Lenskie Stolby (Lena Rocky Pillars) are Lower Cambrian carbonate cliffs, located on the Prilenskoe plateau in the middle of the Lena River for about 120 km. The Lenskie Stolby are located on the right bank of the Lena river reaching up to 150 m high. These cliffs are the main attraction on the territory of the National Nature Park Lenskie Stolby. All the territory of the national park is a continuous permafrost zone, except for the Lena River channel, where a talik beneath the river channel was established. The thickness of perma frost throughout the area adjacent to the Lena River varies from 100 to 600 m. |
