Scalping Incidents Involving Hay Balers—New York

Four incidents in which people were scalped by hay balers are discussed, and strategies for preventing such accidents are addressed. In each case, the injuries resulted from entanglements with rotating secondary drivelines shielded from above by three-sided guards.
