It is abuse inflicted by a person (or group of people) on another person (or group of people) and is not meant to pertain to the rigors of traditional medical education or to the situational stresses that appear to be inevitable in becoming a physician.The degree of medical student abuse and the response of students to the abuse undoubtedly vary widely. Although some students handle abuse well (or may not even notice that it is taking place), others are affected strongly by it at the time and may not overcome its effect for many years.My observations as well as those of many medical students and physicians, including |
