Summary: | The whole-cell patch-clamp technique was used to study sodium channel gating kinetics in NIE-115 neuroblastoma cells during application of 2 Tesla 84 mu s zero-to-peak magnetic fields. A technique using net charge measurements was developed to detect small transient changes in membrane current during application of magnetic stimuli. No evidence was found to suggest that the magnetic filed can influence channel gating. |
