Summary: | As a result of the several archaeological works carried out in the Roman town Iluro (Barcelona) in the last two decades the knowledge on the town has undergone a radical change. Now, this information allows us to reconstruct the main features: its material and institutional evolution from the imperial municipium to the new type of habitat characteristic of the sixth and seventh centuries AD. This process contributes with some arguments to the debate for the understanding on the evolution of the urban life in the context of the general changes in late antiquity, as well as the different situations created as its result.
