Abstract This record of study documents a one-year professional engineering internship conducted from January 1988 to January 1989 at the San Antonio Area Office, San Antonio, Texas, Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is a government engineering and construction agent employing over 45,000 people worldwide. The San Antonio Area Office is a field office of the Corps' Fort Worth District with a staff of approximately 65 engineers, engineering technicians, construction representatives, and clerical personnel. An Internship Proposal, including the planned assignments for the internship, was prepared and approved prior to the internship to provide purpose and direction for the experience and to allow for an objective assessment at its conclusion.
