Summary: | [...]many IPF patients who are unable to undergo lung biopsy receive a diagnosis of unclassifiable disease. Since 2011, a multidisciplinary-based algorithm for IPF diagnosis has been used in the Royal Brompton Hospital (RBH). Following evaluation of all available patient data (e.g. clinical data, serology, bronchoalveolar lavage, lung biopsy if performed), a 'working multidisciplinary diagnosis' of IPF is made if the diagnostic likelihood is sufficiently high. |
