Summary:Stereotypes are among the important factors that affect intercultural communication. Turkish university students have several stereotypes about Japanese people. To determine these stereotypes may provide important benefits to establish an effective communication between Turkish and Japanese people. The aim of this study is to determine the stereotypes of Turkish university students towards Japanese people. In this context a field survey has been conducted on the university students from Selcuk University. As a general result of the study it was determined that the positive stereotypes about Japanese people are much more than the negative stereotypes.
