Description
Summary:We consider the performance of direct-sequence (DS) based code division multiple-access (CDMA) over a wireless communications environment that is characterized by multipath Rayleigh fading channels. Specifically, we propose and analyze a multiuser detection strategy, which employs a cascade of co-channel interference cancellation, for the demodulation of asynchronous DS spread-spectrum multiple-access signals. The numerical results show that the proposed multistage receiver, which alleviates the detrimental effects of the near-far problem, can significantly improve the system performance.
