Summary: | In this paper we present a complete and closed theoretical model and its subsequent practical verification for a special type of Mach-Zehnder Electro-Optical Modulator with a 2x1 optical ports configuration (two optical inputs / one output). This device present special modulation features due to its own optical structure. Its employment for modulation of millimeter and microwave signals and their further transmission through dispersive fiber is addressed, showing interesting and particular features respect to the Carrier Suppression Effect or Dispersion Fading. |
