Summary:	Medication non-adherence is a significant problem affecting patient health outcomes. This research reviews the existing solution and presents a novel IoT-enabled smart pillbox solution to address this issue. By integrating IoT technology and Near Field Communication (NFC), the pillbox monitors medication adherence and provides real-time data to healthcare providers. This enables remote monitoring and targeted reminders, enhancing patient compliance and improving treatment effectiveness. The proposed system prototype offers a comprehensive solution for medication management, addressing the challenges associated with irregular medication consumption, particularly among senior patients. By improving adherence rates, this technology contributes to better patient health outcomes and overall healthcare efficiency.
