Description
Summary:The article presents a method for enhancing the stability of TCVCXO quartz clocks by utilizing the 1 PPS signal from the GPS and high-resolution time interval counter. This method involves adjusting the oscillator's frequency through a reference voltage set by the DAC of an STM32 microcontroller. The voltage value is correlated with variations in the 1PPS time segment, measured using a precision time interval counter implemented in an FPGA device. Additionally, the paper presents experimental studies of the method and offers recommendations for improving the effectiveness of the presented technique. This approach provides an advancement in the long-term stability of quartz clocks, highlighting the potential for further optimizations in time measurement technologies.
