Summary:The purpose of this study was to analyse the prerequisites for individual approach to infusion therapy after major abdominal surgery by identifying safe boundaries of water balance in intra and postoperative period, taking of the direct current potential in preoperative period. A retrospective study of perioperative was performed on 396 patients. Revealed that the level of the direct current potential allows to select patients with risk of postoperative complication, based on excessive water balance.
