Abstract This vignette explores the effects of a global text set centered on forced journeys and immigration in a multicultural classroom. By allowing the students to relate to the narratives, critically discuss what is portrayed, and engage deeply with the text, they are able to develop their own voices and have a better understanding of the material they are learning.
