Description
Summary:This study aimed to monitor the correlation between infections by gastrointestinal helminths and coccidia in the weight gain and hematocrit tests of goats from the breed Anglo Nubian, during growth phase, reared in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. The research was carried out between May and October 2011. Data analysis was performed through descriptive statistics techniques: absolute distributions, percentages, and Spearman correlation coefficient. The results found were infections by parasites, with a predominance of Strongyloidea eggs, besides oocysts of Eimeria spp. and also a significant correlation between the presence of Eimeria spp. oocysts and decrease in the weight gain and hematocrit value.
