Nowadays, knowledge has become a special property, a decisive factor to the modern society. The formation and development of knowledge economy have collected/ attracted great concerns of leaders and social science specialists in the world. The XI National Congress Meeting of the socialist Party also stated... "industrialization, modernization must be hand in hand with knowledge development" and set out clearer routes "utilize and take full advantage of the knowledge potentials of the Vietnamese and cultivate to the best the world knowledge sources. Establish and deploy the development procedure of the knowledge economy until 2020". This article clarifies the definition of the knowledge based economy, its facts and suggest some oriented solutions in order to develop the nation’s knowledge economy currently
