Description
Summary:This work presents a research on the situation of the science and chemistry laboratories in six public schools of the state education network, in the city of Dourados / MS. The study was perfomed from the teachers' understanding of the schools. The subject school laboratory is much discussed in the area of science teaching, as such pedagogical spaces can not fall into disuse. The research was performed in the city of Dourados / MS, in public schools of the state education network, which had a science / chemistry laboratory; and has a qualitative research character. The data were constituted through a semistructured interview and the subjects were the chemistry teachers of the school or teacher based on the didactic laboratory. The context of the research involved stages of exploratory research, descriptive research and field research. With the result, it was possible to identify that the experimental activities are poorly used due to the lack of professor or technician packed in the laboratory; and is hampered by the lack of knowledge regarding waste disposal, lack of investment in the purchase of materials and reagents, lack of equipment and conditions for making alternative materials. In addition, the study points to the need to conduct researchin order to the purpose of improving and / or improving the use of school laboratories, always aiming at quality teaching and learning for students.
