Description
Summary:In the present text, the different re-engagement programs existing in the Region of Murcia (Spain), which aim to cater to the needs of those students who have dropped out of education are analyzed. It has been carried out following a bibliographic review of the regulation by means of a qualitative methodology. A process of analysis of the content of the legal texts regulating each of the programs assessed has been carried out. Regarding the main results of the study, it is worth highlighting that there are a variety of programs and measures that are progressively interconnected so as to address school failure and disengagement. Some of those programs have more preventive character, other,  a more reactive one: while some programs are aimed at retaining students within the educational system, others, intend to redirect them towards training programs outside their usual schools, or rather direct them towards training aimed at labor integration. From a legal framework, tend to homogenize the collective of students they are targeting, however, these students are characterized by a great diversity in their educational and social background, where many of the difficulties they reveal are originated.
