Sukces zawodowy emigrantów polskich w Wielkiej Brytanii a ich aktywność edukacyjna

Achieving success, including professional success, is a common goal of people. Success is usually measured by an individual who subjectively assesses the meaning of given achievements and classifies them as success. Success is conditioned by various factors, including achievements and activities in the field of adult education, and overcoming different difficulties and obstacles. The issue of success is particularly interesting as far as emigrants are concerned. They leave their homeland in the hope that they will succeed, also professionally, and they choose a country that offers more favourable conditions for success. The aim of the research was to examine the relationship between success in life of Polish emigrants in Great Britain and their educational activity. The study group included 128 emigrants who achieved professional success in Great Britain. The research revealed that the majority of Poles who achieved professional success in Great Britain were successful in the field that reflected their professional aspirations. Moreover, the respondents were sceptical as far as the achievement of analogous success in Poland was concerned. Almost 1/3 of the study group perceived the relationship between their educational activity and the sense of success as clear and unambiguous. Respondents with higher education exhibited a higher sense of professional success. The study does not exhaust the issue and it constitutes a fragment of a more comprehensive research on the functioning of Polish emigrants in Great Britain.
