Description
Summary:We studied three cases of papillary cystic tumor of the pancreas and reviewed the literature concerning this uncommon neoplasm. This tumor almost always behaves in a benign fashion and occurs predominantly in young women. The histogenesis remains uncertain, but results of electron microscopic and immunocytochemical studies are consistent with an origin from a primitive cell capable of differentiating along both acinar and endocrine lines.
