Abstract Causes of outbreak incidence of pneumonia due to Legionella infection in population of Verkhnyaya Pyshma as well as factors promoting colonization of town's hot water supply system by Legionella were discussed. Experience of organization of flushing and disinfection of hot water supply system was described, effectiveness of different methods of disinfection was evaluated.
