Summary:To evaluate the use of portfolio in a research group 35 examples produced in 2004 to 2005 were analyzed. Comprehensive analysis revealed description of the research projects elaboration, writing of articles, participation in events, seeking for proficiency in English language and comprising of academic credits. The support for registration, content ordering and the examination between proposition and fulfillment varied. Of these last ones, the search for professional and research development were evidenced by the intention in publishing, to make a presentation in scientific congresses and to be admitted in post-graduation programs. Approval of use of this resource for planning and carrier evaluation also was verified. It was concluded that portfolio is an efficient strategy for the development of researchers.
