Summary:The International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) was established to accommodate dispute resolution, and to protect capital flow into Third World countries. This article examines the current framework of the ICSID, and assesses the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of other States. Attention is then given to the enforcement of arbitral awards in relation to foreign sovereign immunity by the United States.
