Summary:The acoustic parameters and sound characteristics of an acoustic instrument are essential for a general use into the musical field. With the information, the musical instrument maker can use for developing in the design so that the quality of the musical instrument will be improved. The study in this area also provides knowledge for virtual acoustic parameters and recording techniques. This research aims to develop an effective and economic measuring methodology to characterize the acoustic parameters such as sound directivity of Thai string instruments (Sx d̑wng) in a real acoustic environment.
