Description
Summary:In this paper will be reported the modification of the 12/8 conventional switched reluctance motor by inserting pyrolytic graphite to minimize the leakage flux by adding diamagnetic material. The output torque from the proposed modification switched reluctance motor with the addition of pyrolytic graphite produce peak torque at 22.09 Nm increase 10.9% compared to a conventional motor peak torque, while the average torque is 12.67 Nm rise 13.7 %. The new model of rotor geometry is found that adding the pyrolytic graphite have effect on increase the output torque. The future study about shape and position of the pyrolytic graphite should be taken.
