Quantum cascade lasers for sensing CO2 isotopic fingerprints

We demonstrate a quantum cascade laser for detecting 12 CO 2 and 13 CO 2 isotopes for use in fingerprinting CO 2 emissions from sources such as power plants and carbon storage reservoirs. The lasers emit a single mode at 4.32 μm in continuous wave operation.
