Summary:The results of studies for thermal expansion and optical indicatrix rotation at the ferroelastic phase transition, along with the domain structure observations for Cs 2 HgCl 4 , Cs 2 HgBr 4 and Cs 2 CdBr 4 crystals are presented. On the basis of the literature data and the results of our studies for the heterophase structure, domain structure and thermal expansion, the phase diagram common for Cs 2 HgCl 4 , Cs 2 HgBr 4 and Cs 2 CdBr 4 crystals is proposed.
