Description
Summary:This paper introduces two different approaches to create programmatic models of the large intestine in Unity. The final goal is to allow us the development of simulators for the training of lower intestinal procedures, also known as colonoscopy. Key requirements are the possibility of creating multiple variations on the intestine and the achievement of an affordable solution. The two approaches considered show the difficulties and issues involved on this challenge. The first approach is based on the biarc spline interpolation and procedural grid. The second approach considers the generation from intestine segments with armature. They are introduced as initial steps towards the development of further developments.
