Summary: | This study addresses the need to improve efficiency in energy conversion and waste management, considering the growing demand for a cleaner and more sustainable energy system. The objective of the research is to map projects and initiatives related to waste management in the Brazilian pho-tovoltaic sector, with an emphasis on the recycling process of photovoltaic (PV) modules. The research included two analyses, an interactive one with interested parties and a second analysis of recycling processes with a case study in the industry. The results showed that recycling PV modules is effective in reducing waste. However, it revealed a lack of consumer knowledge regarding the disposal of these appropriate modules. The study also highlights the importance of reverse logistics in Brazil, especially in the photovoltaic industry, to ensure efficiency and sustainability throughout the life cycle of these materials, making PV energy a clean and sustainable option in the energy transition. |
