Summary: | Conventional techniques to secure the privacy of your personal data included token (for instance ID card) and passwords. And as the use of technology gradually increased, it also became vulnerable in a negative manner. Here's where the role of security comes into picture to provide an extra layer of shield to your personal data. Biometrics or fingerprint scanning ensures security on a much larger scale than that of using passwords or tokens. The biggest advantage of using the biometric security is that it cannot be forgotten or lost and we do not have to remember it. Despite having so many advantages over the traditional techniques, it's also breakable and vulnerable to the spoofing attacks, noisy sensor data and interclass variations etc. There are several methods by which the biometric security can be enhanced or modified and they are mentioned in this research paper. |
