Summary: | Stream Control can significantly improve network throughput of wireless networks with MIMO links. To be efficient, this technique requires optimal selection of the streams used at each link. In this paper, a joint stream control and link TDMA-based scheduling algorithm is proposed for MIMO wireless mesh networks. It selects the optimal set of simultaneous links that can be activated and determines the number of streams to be used on each of them. The selection is based on a set of criteria including: streams' channel gains, interference and traffic information. The proposed algorithm aims to optimize both frame length and network throughput. Performance results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing solutions. |
