Description
Summary:This paper analyzes the research studies on social entrepreneurship (SE) and maps out the study axes on this subject. A bibliometric method was used in order to analyze 296 scientific papers available in Scopus database, which were published between 1988 and 2016. The study made it possible to verify the evolution of the study of SE throughout the time, authorship and co- authoring, as well as retrieval of similar words. The results yielded four research categories: SE studies, society, education and housing policies. An exploratory factor analysis resulted in six factors that map the study fields in ES. The research study revealed the difficulty to define the notion of SE, the motivations of social entrepreneurs, as well as their traits and competences.
