Description
Summary:The adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) is a neoplasm of rare and benign epithelial origin. The differential diagnosis can be done with any odontogenic cyst or tumor and treatment is usually conservative. This study aims to report the case of a 16-year-old patient with melanoderma complaining of pain and bleeding on dental elements 41-43 area. The intraoral examination revealed the lingual and buccal bulging of the affected area, suggesting neoplasia of odontogenic origin. Radiographically, there was a lesion with well-defined radiolucent image and root displacement of the involved teeth. An incisional biopsy was performed, with histopathological diagnosis of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor. The patient underwent lesion enucleation and remains in follow-up without recurrence.
