Description
Summary:The arterial switch operation for the transposition of the great arteries accompanied by a ventricular septal defect and posterior malalignment of the outlet septum is a surgical challenge. We describe a new surgical technique in 2 patients having this pathology. The surgical technique consists of the arterial switch operation and a modified Konno procedure through partial detachment of the semilunar valve of the right ventricle as in the Ross procedure.
