Description
Summary:A study was made of Pasteurella pneumotropica strains latently infecting various strains of experimental mice. These strains were isolated from uteri, brains, testes, and various other tissues. Most of the strains were penicillin-resistant and apparently nonpathogenic for mice, both in natural infections and when introduced intraperitoneally, intranasally, or per os. Complement-fixing or agglutinating antibodies could not be detected in sera of naturally infected mice, but sera from experimentally infected mice contained complement-fixing antibodies alone.
