Description
Summary:Mature cystic teratomas are benign unilateral tumors often diagnosed in young females. Carcinoid tumors are slow-growing tumors originating from neuroendocrine cells. A thorough histopathological study of the tumor is mandatory and the surgical treatment is adapted according to the characteristics of the patient. The present case was considered as a primary mucinous carcinoid tumor of the ovary because it was confined to the ovary, had an intact capsule, no vascular invasion, or other suspicious lesions were noted in the abdominal cavity. This case is notable due to the rarity of its occurrence and the age of presentation.
